These beautiful little baby booties are simple, enjoyable, and quick to make. The thick garter stitch with boucle yarn keeps tiny toes toasty. Based on a classic French bootie, the pattern was created by a knitwear designer in Lyon, France.

Booties are designed to fit babies 9 - 15 months. You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit stitches, make a stitch by knitting into both the front and back of a stitch, knit two stitches together, cast off, and seam the finished work – skill level beginner/intermediate. A pair, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately two hours to complete.

Sample knit with Plassard Bouclette yarn, color 027. This pattern goes perfectly with the French Animal Ears Cap Pattern, also available.
